ALAMEGA Konsult is proud to be part of the first of its kind project in Sabah which collaborates with Rejimen Askar Jurutera DiRaja (RAJD), CT-One and JAD Resources Sendirian Berhad. The project aimed to reconnects Mesilau National Park which have been cut-off after the 2015 earthquake at Kundasang Sabah by constructing rigid pavement road and the erection of two bailey bridges. This project is known as Program Jiwa Murni or Civic Action Program can be considered as a CSR project by MINDEF to spur up tourism activities which were halted post 2015 earthquake.

It shall be an engineering challenge to design foundation which is robust and suits the seismic condition at the site which sits on a highly active seismic movements region which is very close to active major fault lines, 2 kilometers away from intersection of major fault lines, 2 kilometers from the nearest earthquake epicenter and 7 kilometers away from the deadly 6.0 magnitude (Richter Scale) 5th June 2015 epicenter. This may need care consideration since the design may consider 0.20g capacity for 500 years return period. Another challenge would be the working within the limited and confined area for construction works which need careful planning and coordination works.

The mission is to connect the Mesilau National Park to the public with two bailey bridges

Scaling Mount Kinabalu on the 5th July 2016

posted Jul 7, 2016, 8:00 AM by Admin Website   [ updated Jul 7, 2016, 9:16 AM ]

This is the first attempt by Alamega Konsult to scale the Mount Kinabalu as a team after a month of planning. It is a success to scale the highest peak in the region despite of poor preparation and training. Mission accomplished and this is a start to many outdoor activities and scientific trips or explorations in the nearest future.

The team started around six in the morning from the Timpohon Gate at the Mount Kinabalu National Park and reached Raban Rata base camp an hour shy after the midday. The second day hike to the peak started at around three in the morning and we reached the peak around six something. The trip up on the second day took quite a toll where four men did not make it to the peak.
